Don’t try to score petty points: India tells Pak
Minister of state for defence M.M. Pallam Raju said on Wednesday that “petty points” should not be scored on the issue of trial of the 26/11-accused in Pakistan. The minister was asked to react on Pakistan’s interior minister Rehman Malik’s purported statement that “there are no delays on our (Pakistan’s) part (in 26/11 probe)”.
When asked about the purported comments of the Pakistani minister, Mr Raju said, “Let us not score petty points over whether the fault lies with them or us. The fact is that the crime (26/11) has been committed and it is important that the perpetrators are brought to book,” Mr Raju said. He added that both India and Pakistan have been affected by terrorism and hoped the Pakistan Government would co-operate in bringing the perpetrators of the crime to justice. The minister also said there was no tension on the border with China and added that India was constantly working towards securing its borders. As reported earlier, a proposal to establish an Army Strike Mountain Corps to beef up security in the eastern sector bordering China is still awaiting the nod from the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS).
