Durga to be back before Sept. 16
Suspended IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal is likely to be re-instated with a warning, ahead of the UP Assembly session that begins on September 16.
According to highly-placed sources, the report of the second inquiry conducted by principal home secretary R.M. Srivastava, who also visited the site of the mosque wall demolition in Kadalpur village in Greater Noida, is likely to be submitted to the state government much ahead of the deadline which is September 13.
“Once the report is submitted to the state government, the IAS officer will be re-instated with a warning not to flout rules in future like she did in the demolition of the mosque wall,” said a top ranking official.
The state government, apparently, does not wish to give the Opposition to grill the government ion this issue which has already made headlines at the national level.
The Opposition is already preparing ammunition for the Assembly session and the suspension of Durga Shakti Nagpal on July 27 is one of the biggest weapons in its arsenal.
The Opposition parties will highlight the complicity of the state government with the sand mafia in the state since Durga Shakti Nagpal was ostensibly suspended for reining in the sand mafia in Greater Noida and the demolition of the mosque wall became an apt excuse for action against her.
Durga Shakti Nagpal was suspended on the night of July 27 after she registered 22 cases against illegal sand miners in Greater Noida.
