EC examining video of CM’s Lathika ‘slur’

Congress candidate Lathika Subash is awaiting the verdict of the Election Commission on her complaint against chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan, for casting a slur on her reputation.

Chief electoral officer Nalini Netto on Thursday forwarded the Palakkad District collector’s report on the controversial comment.
The report contained the video footage of Mr Achuthanandan’s news conference in Palakkad and its English transcript.
Ms Subhash had alleged that CM had tried to malign her reputation by saying that “everyone knew why Lathika Subhash is famous”.
Mr Achuthanandan too had filed a complaint with the Election Commission, saying that Ms Subhash had distorted his words. While denying the allegations, Mr Achuthanandan said he had not meant anything bad against his rival.
