ED attaches properties of Koda ministers

The Enforcement Directorate, probing the multi-crore hawala racket involving former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda and his former Cabinet colleagues, on Friday attached properties of his two former ministers in Jharkhand.

After issuing provisional attachment orders on the properties of Hari Narayan Rai and Enos Ekka, ED officials started the process of attachment of their properties. Former Jharkhand CM and his five former Cabinet ministers, namely Kamlesh Singh, Bhanu Pratap Shahi, Bandhu Tirkey, H.N. Rai and Enos Ekka, had been booked under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) by the ED for alleged money laundering and acquiring huge movable and immovable assets by illegal means, worth several hundreds of crores, in the country as well as abroad also.
Sources said, “The ED has also attached 16 bank accounts of Ekka and his associates and eight bank accounts of Rai and associates. Seven vehicles belonging to Ekka and associates have also been seized.”
