ED noose on Baba tightens
The noose around Baba Ramdev tightened further with the ED considering to send a “letter of request” (LR) to Scotland to get details of alleged overseas investments made by yoga guru or organisations associated with him there.
Sources in the agency said there are reports that Ramdev recently acquired a Scottish isle for around £2 million to set up a health retreat. “The acquisition had been carried out by a Scottish couple of Indian origin in September 2009. The island is administered by Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth (UK) Trust,” sources said. The agency is probing the process of acquisition by yoga guru, they added.
“The agency is now planning to send LR to authorities concerned in Scotland to get details about his Ashram functioning there. We may ask Scottish authorities to provide financial details of his Ashram also,” sources said.
