HC to aid of Sabarimala’s donkeys
AGE CORRESPONDENT
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM
Nov. 4: Pack donkeys carrying unbearable loads and struggling up the hillock are a common sight in Sabarimala, where the famous Ayyappa temple is located. The Kerala HC has asking the police and district authorities to ensure that they are used only with proper certification from the animal husbandry officer. A division bench of Justices Thottathil B. Radhakarishnan and P. Bhavadasan also expressed surprise that organisations which work to prevent cruelty to animals had not bothered to study the condition of pack donkeys.
