Alappuzha (Kerala), Aug. 6: The right hand of a 24-year-old man was hacked by a gang allegedly to take revenge for his questioning one of them for teasing his cousin.

Abhilash, an autorickshaw driver, was waylaid and attacked by the gang on Wednesday night. Some of his relatives, including three women, were also injured in the attack, police said.

Abhilash was admitted to hospital with his forearm nearly cut off, which was later restored through an operation at the Medical College Hospital.

According to police, Abhilash incurred the wrath of one of those in the gang for making teasing comments at his sister a few weeks back. This was suspected to be the motive behind the attack on Abhilash.
