Ex-Army officer found guilty of shooting boy to death in Chennai
A former Army officer gets life sentence in Chennai for shooting to death a 13-year-old boy who had allegedly entered the prohibited residential quarters for the Army men to pluck fruits.
A Chennai court ruled guilty verdict on retired Lt Colonel Ramaraj (58) for murdering Dilson on July 3, 2011. Ramaraj shot the boy with an unlicensed rifle, the police investigation revealed.
During the investigation, the accused confessed to the police that he shot at the victim in a fit of rage as boys were trespassing his property quite often.
The police charged him with murder, destruction of evidence and possession of an unlicensed gun.
