Ex-RAW woman strips in high court
Frustrated at frequent adjournments by various courts, Ms Nisha Priya Bhatia, a former Research and Analysis Wing official, created a ruckus by stripping inside a courtroom in the Delhi high court, prompting the judge to order her to be taken for a mental check-up at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.
Ms Bhatia removed her upper garment before the court of Justice Ajit Bharihoke at about 10.45 am and was then restrained by women constables.
But when the hearing in the matter resumed after lunch, Ms Bhatia again allegedly removed her jacket. “The behaviour of the petitioner in baring herself in the open court is deplorable and it gives an impression that the petitioner is not mentally sound. It is not a case of a solitary instance but the petitioner, even in the post-lunch session, had tried to indulge in a similar act, which is not expected from a normal person,” the judge observed.
“She will be admitted there to carry out a complete check-up, The report on her mental condition is to be submitted in court before the next date of hearing on February 28,” the court said.
