Exclude English marks from UPSC exams: chouhan
Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stating that the practice of adding marks obtained in English to the grand total for declaring results of civil services examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, is an attack on the morale and future of not only rural and tribal youth, but also the urban poor and middleclass youth, especially those living in urban slums.
In his letter to the PM, the chief minister has said that the “anti-people practice” of giving weightage to marks for English in the prelims and main examination of the UPSC should be done away with.
