Failed love drives three to death

Three persons - two young men and a teenage girl - allegedly committed suicide following failed love in Angul district, police said today.

Ramachandra Nayak (23), Asis Nayak (23) and Jharana Nayak (19) of Tumuni village took the step yesterday.

Police suspected that Ramachandra and Asis were in love with two girls of the same village but after the girls were married off by their parents, the two heart-broken young men consumed poison and died.

Jharana, staying in her father's house for the last 15 days, on hearing the news of the death of Ramachandra, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of a room of her house, police said.
