Breaking his silence on the mysterious death of a National Conference worker in police custody, the NC president, Union minister for new and renewable energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah, on Thursday denied the deceased had collected about `12

million from two other party men while promising them ministerial berths and other positions in the state government on his behalf, as has been alleged by one of them.
Syed Muhammad Yusuf Shah’s death soon after he was handed over to the state police’s crime branch by CM Omar Abdullah has been seized by the Opposition PDP to target the CM.
Dr Abdullah told reporters that the PDP demanding his son Omar Abdullah’s resignation was a “political stunt”.
