Father stabs daughter, hurls acid at wife

Islamabad: A man, who had returned from the US, stabbed his newly-married daughter to death in Karachi and later threw acid at his wife, police said.

The attack took place in the early hours of Tuesday when Iftikhar Ahmed, after a verbal argument with his wife Mushtari Bibi, tried to attack her with a knife. She escaped.

His daughter, who had recently got married, was then attacked. She received deep wounds and died.

Daily Times reported that Ahmed then tried to burn the body of his daughter.When his wife attempted to stop him, he threw acid on her.

Mushtari was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
