FB forum prepares people’s manifesto
Whenever there is an election in the state, political parties come out with lucrative manifestoes representing various issues of civil society to woo the electorates.
However, more often than not, the political parties fail to address these promises.
But, this time Jagran, public forum of youths has embarked upon their ambitious plan to prepare a people’s manifesto in order to highlight issues concerning the common man of the state.
The forum has already launched a mass campaign across the state to mobilise the opinion in this regard.
The leading member of the forum Ranjan Baruah said, “This manifesto will try to accommodate even a smallest issue of the common man.
“The political parties prepare their manifesto ahead of every election but they do it from a political prospective rather than considering peoples point of view. Jagaran is collecting opinion of the people at various level to prepare a manifesto of common man.”
The more interesting is that Jagran is a public forum created through Facebook, a social networking site in 2010 by a group of conscious citizens and college youths to highlight various isues which hardly get to focus in present democratic set up of the country.
“This forum has been debating small and big problems ranging from students getting admissioin in the country’s finest colleges to the recent price rise issues. We strongly believe that by creating a strong public opinion we can draw the attention of the political system. We are collecting opinion of every one,” he added.
Jagran will release this manifesto soon.
