Federal Express flight lands under emergency conditions
A Paris-bound Federal Express flight via Dubai with two crew on board landed back under emergency conditions due to a suspected fire, 57 minutes after it took off from the city airport.
The aircraft landed safely at 1.10 pm, a Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) spokesperson said.
The aircraft had the endurance time of four hours, the spokesperson said.
"Full emergency was declared at 12.55 hours for the Federal Express aircraft FX-5034 (Mumbai-Dubai-Paris) with two crew onboard the aircraft due to the fire warning in the cargohold," the spokesperson said.
The aircraft, which took off Mumbai at 12.13 pm, landed safely at 1.10 pm on the main runway of the International airport and parked on the isolated bay but no fire was detected, the MIAL official said, adding full emergency was withdrawn at 1.51 pm.
