Ferrari blunder: Cops submit charge sheet
Alappuzha: The Peramangalam police submitted a charge sheet on the Ferrari case at the judicial first class magistrate Court in Kunnamkulam on Saturday, arraigning Muhammad Nisham, owner of the car, for encouraging his nine-year old son to drive it, thereby endangering the life of the kid and that of others.
Nisham was arrested and granted bail on Aril 29.
M.V. Verghese, additional sub inspector of Peramangalam, Thrissur, told DC the charge sheet was submitted by noon.
“The case was charged under Section 23 of the Juvenile Justice Act for allowing the nine-year-old to drive a heavy-powered Italian exotic and the Motor Vehicle Act for permitting a minor, without a driving licence, to take the vehicle out. Nisham had produced the Ferrari before the police as part of the investigation“, he said.
The case was registered following a DC report on April 14, citing a You Tube video showing the kid driving a Ferrari F 430 Scuderia. The case was first investigated by the cyber cell and the Thrissur traffic police as per the order of City Police Commissioner P. Prakash.
The case was later handed over to the Peramangalam police. The case was registered after a probe by Peramangalam CI P.C. Bijukumar under the supervision of R.K. Jayarajan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Guruvayoor.
Nisham, who has a thriving tobacco business and real estate concerns in India and abroad, allegedly owns a fleet of 26 cars. He said he would fight the case.
