Film on Radia; HC asks producer to respond to her plea
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the producer of ‘Monica-the Politics of Murder’ to reply to the plea of corporate lobbyist Niira Radia that the film depicted her private life in a ‘scandalous’ manner.
"The reply to the petition be filed within three days after supplying the copy to the petitioner (Radia)," Justice V. K. Jain said.
The film, produced by Lucknow-based Congress leader Kush Bhargava, stars award winning actor Ashutosh Rana and hit theatres on last Friday after the court refused to grant a stay on its release, saying it cannot pass any order without ascertaining the allegations.
"Unless, we see the film, we cannot decide," Justice said adding, "the producer of the film is directed to produce either the CD or the entire script of the film."
Earlier, the court had issued a notice to the producer on the plea of Radia.
Radia, Director of Vaishnavi Corporate Communications Private Ltd who has been in news after the leakage of her tapped conversations with corporate heads, journalists and political leaders, has filed the petition seeking a permanent injunction against the release of the film.
