Finish CWG work in 53 days: Sheila
Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit does not want any civic agency to leave Commonwealth Games-related work for the eleventh hour: she has given them 53 days to make the city “absolutely ready” by August 31.
Taking a serious view of frequent road-cutting by different agencies, Ms Dikshit has given them a deadline of July 31, after which no road-cutting or digging would be allowed.
She has also fixed August 10 as the deadline to remove all construction debris by agencies like the MCD, NDMC and PWD. She has told all agencies to get in touch with chief secretary Rakesh Mehta — who has been made nodal officer — in case of any problems.
