Flesh trade racket busted; six Dubai-bound girls rescued
Six girls, who were allegedly being sent to Dubai for flesh trade, were rescued from the international airport here on Wednesday, police said.
The police said they received a tip-off that a group of six girls were to be sent to Dubai under the pretext of performing in the New Year-related shows. The girls had tourist visas with them.
A team of Social Service Branch (SSB) of the police carried out a raid and rescued the girls from the airport and also arrested an agent, Sheikh Sheriff, who was facilitating their visit, they said, adding a manhunt has been launched for three other accused involved in the racket. These girls were brought from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and were being pushed into flesh trade, police said.
"We now want to ascertain how big is this flesh trade racket and for how many years it has been in existence," said a police officer.
