Foetuses found in Cuttack drain

Three foetuses contained in plastic jars were recovered from a drain in an area surrounded by privaste hospitals here, police said on Friday.

The locals first spotted the jars with foetuses inside in the drain and informed the police on Thursday.

An enquiry headed by the chief district medical officer has already been ordered into the incident.

The enquiry committee members would visit all the near-by hospitals and examine their records and ultrasound facilities to ascertain whether those were female feticides, Cuttack District Collector Girish S.N. said.
