Fog hits visibility early morning
It was a pleasant Sunday for Delhiites as the mercury remained near normal level and a shallow fog gave way to a bright sun.
The morning hours saw fog in most parts of the city and the visibility at the Indira Gandhi International airport dropped to 300 metres till 7.30 am though it later cleared to make way for the sun.
The mercury peaked to 21.9 degree Celsius, two degrees below normal. On Saturday, the maximum was 21.3 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius, which is a degree above the normal for this time of the season, and a good 1.5 degrees more than Saturday’s minimum of 7 degrees. The temperatures are expected to be at similar levels on Monday.

Woman held for supplying minor helps

Dec. 19: The Delhi police has busted a racket providing minor girls as domestic helps in the national capital region. On Saturday, the police rescued a 10-year-old girl working at a residence in Sector 50, Noida. Sources said a a tip-off was received that a placement agency in Paharganj was providing minor children as domestic servants. “We got to know that the racket was being run by a woman Rekha and her accomplices,” a police official said.
Deputy commissioner of police (central) Vivek Kishore said the victim was rescued after the arrest of Rekha.
“The girl was employed at `1,000 per month. We got the tip off from Child Helpline, an NGO. The agency owner Rekha was arrested while Sarita Taneja, who employed the girl, is on the run.
