Forces bust Naxal network

In joint operations with the Army, security forces busted a network of Maoist which was spreading its link in Dibang Valley of the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh.

The security forces, in a series of operations carried out jointly with the Army in Lohit district, arrested nine Maoists who had their connections with Ulfa and other separatist groups of Northeast.
The security sources attributed its success against Maoist to the pro-active role of Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin.
When contacted over telephone, Arunachal Pradesh police DIG (intelligence) Anil Shukla also confirmed the arrest of nine Maoists.
The arrested Maoist rebels, who are the resident of Sadia and its nearby area in Assam, were identified as Rocky Bordoloi, Manoranjan Gogoi, Amlan Baruah, Ukil Bordoloi, Rupam, Vidyut and Rabon.
The breakthrough came in course of investigation of an incident of “arms and cash” loot by some armed youths from personnel of General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) of Border Road Organisation in Lohit district.
Referring the confession of arrested Maoist rebels, the security sources in the Arunachal Pradesh police told this newspaper that Assam’s Sadia adjoining the border with Arunachal Pradesh has become the hot-bed of anti-dam activities under the garb of which the Maoist modules are spreading their networks in Dibang Valley.
Pointing out that majority of the hydropower projects are proposed to come up in Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, security sources said that their aim is to motivate and provoke the local population against proposed hydropower projects in the state.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
