French couple complain of daughter's missing organs
A French couple has alleged that organs of their daughter, who died due to consuming excessive alcohol while on a visit here, were found missing during an autopsy in France, a senior police official said today.
"The couple met me on December 5 and submitted a written complaint in this regard and demanded an investigation into the matter," Udaipur SP Alok Vashistha said.
"The couple said kidneys, heart and some other organs were found missing from the body of their daughter during an autopsy in France," the SP said.
The couple's daughter Anne (24) was on a city tour in March last year and was found dead in mysterious circumstances in her hotel room.
"Postmortem of the body was conducted by a medical board here in the presence of French embassy official and with consent of her parents last year. Some samples were taken from the body for FSL examination because the death was under suspicious circumstances," Vashistha said.
"Test reports had confirmed that she died due to excess use of alcohol and the same was conveyed to her parents by fax. The samples which were taken are still preserved in Udaipur government hospital," he said.
Due procedure was followed to conduct the post-mortem, he said.
"We have inquired about the matter and no lapse was found on part of the doctors or police," the SP added.
Kidneys, heart and stomach were removed from the girl's body and the same was mentioned in the post-mortem also, hospital sources said.
