Fresh trouble for Balwa?

There is fresh trouble brewing for Shahid Balwa, who ran into trouble earlier this week as the government of India on Thursday stopped the sale of Hotel Corporation of India’s Centaur Hotel in Srinagar to DB Realty following his arrest by the CBI.

On Friday, the Union of Centaur-Tulip Employees sent a letter to the director general of the CBI about the sale of the Centaur Juhu, rechristened as Tulip Star to Mr Balwa’s DB Realty. Hotelier Ajit Kerkar, who was the successful bidder for the Centaur in November 2001, had reportedly signed an agreement with Siddhivinayak Realties, which was formed just six months earlier, to run the Centaur/Tulip Star.
