Games Village to get an Army fit
New Delhi, Sept. 27: It’s the Army to the rescue once again. It has now been requested by civil authorities to rush in 60 civilian “tradesmen” — plumbers, carpenters and electricians — belonging to the Military Engineering Service to help shore up the facilities at the much-criticised Commonwealth Games Village.
Sources said the request has been accepted and the tradesmen are being sent to the Games Village. The MES comes under the purview of the Army’s Engineer-in-Chief branch and comprises both military personnel and civilians.
