Ganga reaches extreme danger level mark

Due to water level increase in the upper catchment areas of the river, the Ganges Saturday touched the extreme danger level mark in Malda district.

Irrigation department officials said the water level will continue to increase in the next few days as the same has been happening in places like Allahabad and Patna.

Officials have warned of inundation may occur in few places of the district.
