Gehlot to meet leaders in delhi
Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot is scheduled to visit Delhi on Saturday amid speculation about a Cabinet reshuffle in the state following sacking of water resources minister Mahipal Maderna and minister of state Amin Khan’s
exit from the cabinet over a controversy. According to sources, the CM’s visit is also important in view of finalising names for the political appointments in different government bodies.
The sources said Mr Gehlot will leave for Delhi on Friday night to meet senior party leaders on several issues. It will be the CM’s third visit to Delhi in the last one month. According to sources, there is pressure on the CM to reshuffle the cabinet after reviewing performances of the ministers and also get rid of ministers facing charges of corruption. The non-performing ministers have been trying to save their position as some party MLAs aspire for a place in Cabinet.
Party insiders said it will be difficult task for the CM to find a suitable replacement for sacked minister Maderna going by the yardstick of loyalty and efficiency. The aspirants have been lobbying on caste lines and their connection in Delhi to benefit from the reshuffle. The MLAs from minority community are also trying to get berth in place of Amin Khan, who lost his ministerial position after he created a stir with his statement.
