Gehlot takes stock of preparations
Enthusiastic about Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Rajasthan, Congress leaders and workers have been engaged in homework for a personal interaction with the scion of the Gandhi family. Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot reached Bikaner to take stock of the preparations and visited the venue marked for Mr Gandhi’s meeting with party workers.
Mr Gandhi is scheduled to visit Bikaner and Jaipur on May 15 and 16 and interact with a large number of party workers. Mr Gehlot, accompanied by AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik and Union minister Sachin Pilot, on Monday reached Bikaner from Ajmer and met local leaders. Party sources said Mr Gehlot visited the Park Paradise hotel, the venue for the meet. They said Mr Gandhi will meet party functionaries, block-level office-bearers, elected representatives and grassroots workers from 15 districts and get feedback about the party and the state government’s performance. The party has asked its rank and file to use this opportunity in a positive way.
