GenNext set to rise in UP polls

A whole new generation of politicians is set to emerge in Uttar Pradesh in the coming Assembly elections, giving a new face to state politics.
Veteran politicians are gradually making way for the generation next and the coming elections will witness the biggest ever “sonrise” in the state.
BJP MP Lalji Tandon is all set to launch his son Ashutosh Tandon from the Lucknow North seat and is using all his goodwill to ensure a smooth run for his son.
Former BJP president Rajnath Singh is another father keen to ensure a smooth landing in politics for his son Pankaj Singh whose candidature is yet to be declared. Pankaj has made two abortive attempts to enter electoral politics but his uncanny knack of creating controversy every time lands him in trouble but this time, his supporters are keeping their fingers crossed.
Samajwadi MLC Balram Yadav is another doting father who is preparing to launch son Sangram Yadav from Atraulia in Azamgarh on a SP ticket while two other fathers — Naresh Agarwal and Dhani Ram Varma — have already returned to the Samajwadi Party to secure the future of their sons, Nitin Agarwal and Mahesh Varma, respectively.
Jailed SP MLA Amar Mani Tripathi may not be able to contest the polls following his conviction in the Madhumita murder case and, therefore, he has ensured a ticket for his son Aman Mani Tripathi from his Laxmipur seat. The jailed father is busy supervising his son’s campaign form behind the bars.
Former MP Salim Shervani’s son, Azeem Shervani, will be making his political debut from Badaun on a Congress ticket while Congress MP Jagdambika Pal will be launching his son Abhishek Pal from Basti, also on a Congress ticket.
Senior Congress leader Rajeshpati Tripathi is preparing to launch his son Laliteshwar Tripathi from Mirzapur while former MP Ramji Lal Suman is working overtime to ensure a smooth victory for his son Akhilesh Suman who is the SP candidate from Ferozabad.
