Ghulam Nabi Azad witnesses MPs fight

Hyderabad: Differences among Telangana and Seemandhra MPs were once again exposed in the presence of Union minister and AP Congress affairs in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad. The latter held a meeting on Tuesday with Congress MPs in Delhi to discuss the strategy to be adopted in the meeting with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi on May 9.
Telangana and Seemandhra MPs exchanged words when Telangana MPs obstructed the speech of MP from Seemandhra Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. MPs S. Rajaiah and G. Vivek told the media after the meeting that they had asked him to take a decision on Telangana without delay. They said they had told AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi the same earlier and would do so once again when they meet him on May 9.
MPs V. Hanumantha Rao, G. Vivek and others complained to Azad against Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. They alleged that the CM was trying to build his own image, and taking unilateral decisions without taking party leaders into confidence.
Denying their allegations, MPs Harsha Kumar and Lagadapati Rajagopal said the CM was working very hard, and was bringing the party to the people with his new schemes. Former Union minister and MP Sai Pratap complained of Central ministers from AP not replying to their letters on public issues.
MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy said they were facing two problems, one was the Telangana issue and the other, categorisation of SCs. Union minister Panabaka Lakshimi intervened and said that categorisation issues should be left to SC MPs.
At the start of the meeting, Azad called on all party leaders to work unitedly as the next general elections to the Lok Sabha and AP Assembly were coming closer. Telangana MP Ponnam Prabhakar objected to the suggestion made by MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao that all MPs should tour in a bus across AP to strengthen the party.
