Girl frames father in abuse case

A young girl accused her father of sexual exploitation merely to save herself from his wrath after she secured poor marks in B.Tech.
The girl, who is studying in an engineering college in Ghaziabad, sent a letter to the superintendent of police in Sonebhadra district, accusing her father of sexually exploiting her.

The father, Malkhan Singh, is a CRPF jawan, presently posted in Anpara power plant in Sonebhadra.
On the basis of the letter, the local police registered a case against Malkhan Singh and started investigations into the charges on June 25.
In the meantime, the local media came to know about the case and the issue got widely publicised.
The girl then telephoned the SP and asked him not to initiate any action against her father.
The local police, earlier this week, called the girl to Sonebhadra and asked her to record her statement before the magistrate. This, apparently, unnerved the girl and she confessed before the magistrate that she had levelled the charges on the advice of her friends and wanted to divert attention from her poor academic performance.
The case has been closed after the girl’s confession.
