At Goa meet, Advani may face endgame
Eighty-six-year-old BJP leader L.K. Advani’s repeated moves to position himself as the party’s prime ministerial candidate are likely to be thwarted in the forthcoming BJP national executive in Goa.
The office-bearers’ meeting on June 7 is likely to root for Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the “most popular leader in the country”. The office-bearers, gearing up to give a final snub to Mr Advani, are likely to make it clear that “his time is over as far as the race for the top post is concerned”, sources said.
