Gogoi furious at Modi tweet on ‘foreigners’

GUWAHATI

A recent Twitter post by Gujarat CM Narendra Modi targeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has set off a furore in Assam, with CM Tarun Gogoi accusing Mr Modi of “disrespecting the nation, particularly Assam”.
Mr Gogoi said Sunday: “Modi’s statement ‘Assam and FDI issues prove PMji has redefined our democracy as govt. of foreigners, by foreigners and for foreigners’ is a great insult to the nation, particularly Ass-am”. He asked: “Will Modi (say) what the NDA government did to prevent infiltration when it was in power?”

Yash Chopra has dengue, in clinic

Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, 80 was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital Sunday on being diagnosed with dengue. Hospital sources said he was critical and his platelet count was low.
