Gov sends ‘why’ report to MHA
Karnataka governor H.R. Bhardwaj on Saturday sent a report to the Union home ministry citing the reasons why he sanctioned prosecution against state chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in alleged land scams. The report said that the governor had sought all the required documents in connection with the alleged land scams and had
given 17 days time to the state government to submit them. The governor had sought 93 documents from the state government to verify the claims of the complainants who had complained about the chief minister. But the state government provided only 80 documents.
The remaining 13 documents were provided by the complainants, who had got the same through Right to Information Act. After receiving 13 remaining documents from the complainants, the Governor verified all the 93 documents and then sanctioned prosecution against the state CM. The governor in his report said, “I have given sanction on the basis of analysing all 93 documents”.
