Government suffering from internal conflict: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said the government was suffering from "internal conflict" and this was affecting its actions.
Cornering the government on several fronts, including price rise, corruption and terrorism, BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj said the conflict was visible.
“There is an internal conflict in the government,” Jaitley said, a day after both houses of parliament adjourned at the end of the monsoon session. He said this was showing up even in international policy decisions, and referred to protests by government ally Trinamool Congress which scuttled the Teesta water agreement with Bangladesh. “That difference was visible in the Sports Bill,” added Sushma Swaraj. Jaitley insisted that the crowds at Anna Hazare's fast at Ramlila Ground showed the government's popularity was sliding.
“Ramlila was one defining moment, it looked like the aspiration of people echoed from the ground," Jaitley said. Jaitley also took the government to task for failing to resolve any of the recent bomb attacks. “This never used to happen. It shows our intelligence agencies are not able to decipher the way of working of the terror organisations,” he said. Sushma Swaraj expressed overall satisfaction over the Monsoon Session, stating the opposition was able to take up discussions on all major issues they had zeroed in on.
She shifted the blame for the hours lost during the session on to the government. “If hours were lost, it was their mistake, not ours.”
