Governor felicitates UPSC qualifiers from J&K
Jammu and Kashmir governor N.N. Vohra has felicitated 12 youths from the state who cracked the all-India civil services exam this year, expressing hope that their effort would inspire more to compete at the national level.
The governor and his wife Usha Vohra met the qualifiers at Raj Bhavan here last evening at a reception hosted in their honour, an official spokesman said today.
Interacting with the qualifiers, Vohra said he was hopeful that many more boys and girls from the state would get inspiration from them and compete successfully for the All India Services in the coming years.
Reiterating that the youth of the state have very high potential if provided with the appropriate opportunities, the governor called upon them to work hard and compete at all levels.
As many as 12 young men from Jammu and Kashmir cracked the All India Civil Services Examination in 2011.
Candidates selected are Abid Hussain Sadiq, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Sarvjeet Soodan, Vimarsh, Mohammad Aijaz, Bhupinder Kumar, Ovessa Iqbal and Sameer Sharma while Tsewang Gyalson, Sandeep Kumar and Krishan Kumar have been selected for Indian Forest Services.
The governor and the first lady presented gifts to the successful candidates and wished them a very bright career.
