Govt to clear stand on scam

The JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav on Tuesday told reporters that the Bihar government would be submitting its reply on Rs 11,000 crore treasury scam in the next hearing of the Patna high court on July 26. Mr Yadav also stated that the NDA will hold its co-ordination meeting on July 26 for the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

When asked about the party’s position on the Rs 11,000 crore treasury scam in Bihar, Mr Yadav told reporters that the Bihar government would soon make its stand clear. “Our party is very transparent. The Bihar government will file its reply on July 26 in the Patna high court. Then you will come to know the party’s position,” stated Mr Yadav.
The JD(U) chief went on to say that corruption is the burning issue and his party would raise it in the upcoming session of Parliament. Mr Yadav also informed that the national executive meeting of the JD(U) would be held ion Delhi on August 7 and 8. “The agenda for the national executive meeting will be political situation in the country, organisational matters and the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections,” Mr Yadav said.
The JD(U) chief also informed that he held an hour long meeting with the Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on various issues, which included caste census.
“Mr Mukherjee also appeared to be in agreement with our view on the caste census. I have given him my suggestions on caste census,” added Mr Yadav.
The JD(U) chief also demanded an immediate release of the TDP chief N. Chanderababu Naidu. “The Central government should intervene in the matter and ensure immediate release of Mr Naidu. He should also be allowed to visit the Babhli dam,” added Mr Yadav.
He reiterated that the price rise is the biggest issue for the upcoming Parliament session.
