Govt may club all Hindu terror cases
Amidst reports received by the Union home ministry of radical Hindu outfits hand in the 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings, the government is considering clubbing all “Hindu terror” related cases to be handed over to one investigating agency.
The Abhinav Bharat and Sanatan Sanstha are the two Hindu terror outfits under the scanner.
The government intends to speed up the investigation to enable a dedicated nation-wide probe against the radical Hindu outfits’ funding and terror modules.
The move is being considered by the home ministry after cases such as the 2007 Ajmer Dargah bomb blast, Hyderabad Mecca Masjid blast of 2007, Malegaon blasts, 2008 bombing in Modasa in Gujarat, and the 2009 Goa blast cases have thrown up evidence of involvement of radical Hindu outfits.
At this juncture, various agencies like, CBI, NIA, anti-terrorism squad are investigating the cases. Recently, the home ministry has also been informed by the investigating agencies of the radical Hindu outfit Abhinav Bharat’s link to the Samjhauta Express blast, which killed 68 persons. The agencies had earlier been exploring the outfit’s link to the blast.
For the record, the ministry denies bracketing such cases as “Hindu terror’’.
