Govt misusing CBI to implicate RSS leaders: Advani

Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani on Wednesday alleged that the government had misused CBI to implicate the RSS in terror attack cases and asked party MPs to demand in Parliament JPC probes into anomalies in 2-G spectrum allocation, CWG projects and Adarsh Housing allotments.

Addressing a meeting of the BJP parliamentary party, Mr Advani alleged that there were large-scale irregularities in the Commonwealth Games.

"This government is involved in corruption. Wherever Commonwealth Games were held, there got compliments about the success of the events, but here scams worth thousands of Crores have come to light," deputy leader of BJP in Rajya Sabha S.S. Ahluwalia quoted Advani as saying.

Mr Advani said the winter session of Parliament starts with issues like "corruption and Kashmir." Quoting Mr Advani, Ahluwalia said "despite the good performance of our sportspersons, we were not able to wash away the taint."

"Delhi government, Central ministries, sports ministry, Urban development ministry and group of ministers are in the ring of those involved in corruption in CWG," Advani alleged.

CVC and CBI are also being misused and politicised. "Those involved in corruption are being appointed in CVC," he said. Mr Advani also alleged that the government had misused the CBI to implicate the RSS in terror attack cases, he said.

Ahluwalia said defence minister A.K. Antony has recommended the CBI to probe the Adarsh Housing Society scam, but the BJP has no trust in CBI.

"It is being misused to target the political opponents and to tarnish the image of social workers and political organisations as was done in the case of RSS. Advani mentioned this," he said.

The BJP Parliamentary Party decided that it would demand Joint Parliamentary Committee probes into 2-G Spectrum allocation, Adarsh Housing Society scam and anomalies in CWG projects.

BJP president Nitin Gadkari, who also attended the meeting, said the party will raise its voice against corruption both inside and outside Parliament.

"Removing Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan or Suresh Kalmadi is not enough. We want to go to the roots of corruption and bring out the truth," Ahluwalia said.
