Govt nominates Sachin Tendulkar to Rajya Sabha

In an interesting move, the government has recommended star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s name to Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

This will open the Master Blaster’s innings as a politician. There won’t be any hurdles for the player to make it to the House as Congress and BJP welcomed the news saying that Sachin is a great player and he deserves it.

The news came on a day when the icon along with his wife Anjali paid a courtesy visit to Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her 10 Janpath Residence here.

Sonia wanted to meet the batting great and personally congratulate him on achieving the historic feat of scoring 100 international centuries recently.

Senior BCCI functionary and IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla was also present at Sonia Gandhi's residence.
