Govt sets task forces for Leh, Kargil, Jammu
Government has formulated three task forces for Leh, Kargil and Jammu to evaluate the developmental needs of the regions. These task forces will particularly look into the issue of shortage in infrastructure and then make suitable recommendations. Sources said the Union home ministry finalised the three teams in consultations with the state government, which will go into the details of the developments in these three regions.
The decision on forming of three task forces was taken after a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on September 25. These task forces comprise professors from Delhi University, Jamia Hamdard, Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University and officials from Union Home and Finance Ministries besides an official from the Department of Expenditure, sources said.
Sources said divisional commissioner of Kashmir and Jammu will be members of the task forces.
