Grenade found near hospital emergency complex

A powerful grenade was planted at a place near the emergency complex of Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital (RIMS) in Imphal West district of Manipur, police said on Monday.

The grenade was planted near the gate of the complex late last night by unidentified militants with a note saying that they (militants) would not compromise unless their demand was met.

RIMS sources said several militant outfits had demanded huge sum of money from the hospital but they refused to divulge the names of the outfits.

Bomb experts removed the grenade and defused it in safe place.
