Gujarat IPS association passes resolution supporting Bhatt
Gujarat IPS association on Sunday passed a resolution supporting IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who has been put behind bars after his subordinate officer filed a complaint against him.
Three IPS officers, including Atul Karwal and V M Parghi, later went to Bhatt's residence to convey the resolution passed by the association to his family members, members present in the meeting said.
"Three IPS officers came to our house and told us that the association will back Bhatt in his fight for truth," Bhatt's wife Shweta told the media.
The bail plea of Bhatt, who had spoken against Chief Minister Narendra Modi in a affidavit in the Supreme Court accusing him of complicity in 2002 riots, will be heard on Monday.
