HC blast Pak link ‘confirmed’

A Pakistan link to the September 7 Delhi high court blast has now been “confirmed”.
This is based primarily on the disclosure of one of the main accused in the case, Wasim Akram Malik, and subsequent investigations conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Wasim revealed during interrogation that the conspiracy was finalised and its execution supervised by Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin and his top commander, Jahangir Saruri, from Muzaffarabad, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Wasim told National Investigation Agency sleuths that Salahuddin also arranged for two Pakistani militants, who were experts in assembling IEDs, and even the explosives for the high court blast.
The NIA has now been able to piece together the jigsaw puzzle, from conspiracy to execution, the details of which are available with this newspaper.
According to Wasim’s interrogation report, even though the original idea to bomb the high court was mooted by him, it was fine-tuned and implemented by Salahuddin himself from PoK.
