HC reprieve for Delhi journalists
New Delhi, Sep. 24: The Delhi High Court, which defended sting operation as a means to expose corruption, and quashed the criminal proceedings against two senior journalists of a web portal for conducting a sting operation to expose the cash-for-query scam involving 11 MPs in 2005.
In a major reprieve to two journalists — Mr Anirudh Bahal and Ms Suhasini Raj — working in a webportal, Cobra Post.com, Justice Shiv Narayan Dhingra, said that, “I consider that in order to expose corruption at higher level and to show to what extent the state managers are corrupt, acting as agent provocateurs does not amount to committing a crime.”
