Hemant to take oath today as J’Khand CM
With the President’s Rule in Jharkhand revoked, JMM leader Hemant Soren is set to take oath as the 12-year-old state’s ninth chief minister on Saturday. Two MLAs from the Congress and the RJD will also be sworn in as ministers along with him.
Governor Syed Ahmed will formally invite Mr Soren, the son of JMM patriarch and former Union minister Sibu Soren, to take oath as chief minister as the head of a JMM-Congress-RJD coalition government, sources said. Mr Hemant Soren, who was a former deputy chief minister in Jharkhand’s previous BJP-led coalition government of Arjun Munda, had staked claim for forming government with the support of 43 MLAs on July 9. President’s Rule in the state was set to expire on July 18.
The JMM, which has 18 MLAs, is expected to have the largest number of ministers.
