HIV patient loses job in Pune, seeks financial assistance
A HIV patient, Suresh Sopan Kamble, a driver by profession, was declared unfit by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) to drive heavy vehicles and has been dismissed from his job.
Kamble has urged the state government for financial assistance and to provide him with the job in order to support his family.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Kamble said the attitude of the government towards him was apathetic.
"I went thrice to Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) along with my family members. I asked them how my family and me would survive without my job. I also asked for a job but they did not listen to my grievances," Kamble said.
He was the only earning member in his family.
41-year-old Kamble had disclosed about his illness to the officials of MSRTC in the year 2008 and had requested for a lighter job.
The officials, however, sacked him from his job with the reasons that he was unfit for driving heavy vehicles.
"I want that I should get my salary and I must get a job. This is my request.hey said that I was unfit for my job and dismissed me from my job," Kamble said.
