JD-U doubts govt on suspension of Lalli
AGE CORRESPONDENT
NEW DELHI

Dec. 11: Calling for immediate suspension of controversial Prasar Bharati CEO B.S. Lalli, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav on Saturday expressed doubt over the government’s intention to act against him. However, the Union information and broadcasting minister Ambika Soni had indicated on Friday that Mr Lalli could face suspension in a day or two.
In a statement, Mr Yadav stated that “given the UPA government’s ill-disguised preference for corrupt persons with access to high places, renewed efforts may yet be made to shield Mr Lalli from being suspended, which is otherwise imperative when the Supreme Court enquiry gets underway”.
Mr Yadav said even though Mr Lalli was severely indicted by the CVC, the move to proceed against him was blocked.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
