Humiliate those who drink, says Anna Hazare
Social activist Anna Hazare told a TV channel on Monday that people who consume alcohol 'should be flogged in public'.
In commments that are likely to attract strong criticism, Hazare, during an interview with NDTV, said those who drink must be served 'with three warnings' and if they fail to pay heed, 'must be beaten' and, 'humiliated in public'.
The Lokpal activist, speaking from Ralegan Siddhi, added that alcohol 'causes bad behaviour' and that only 'humiliation' would work to take people away from the habit.
