Hyderabad on alert after terror attack in Bodhgaya

Hyderabad: Following the serial blasts in Bodhgaya Temple in Bihar on Sunday, there is high alert in the city.
 
Security has been beefed up at places like Ananda Buddha Vihara at Mahindra Hills, and the monolithic Buddha statue on Hussainsagar. Both Hyderabad and Cyberabad cops have increased security around tourist spots, religious places, shopping complexes and other commercial areas.
 
Cops were deployed at Buddha temple, Buddha Vihara and frisking was done. They will remain in the temple at night, the police said. Cops have asked temple authorities to keep a check on the visitors and tourists. The temple authorities will also set up other security measures on the premises.

Hyderabad’s North Zone DCP R. Jayalakshmi on Sunday that enough men have been deployed at sensitive areas in view of terror bombing at Bodh Gaya in Bihar. “We have intensified security checking in the area and we are keeping a tight vigil at the required places,” she said.
 
People have been requested to remain vigilant and inform the local police if they find any unclaimed object or anyone moving in a suspicious manner. The Centre has alerted all states and  major cities, across the country, including Hyderabad. 
 
The Union ministry has put eight cities on alert — Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune. The Union home ministry has also asked the states to ensure security to Buddhist worship places. Besides nine blasts in Bodh Gaya, two live bombs were defused in the town while, another was recovered from a nearby village.
